Special thanks to Dustin from Moving Blankets for writing up a quick blog for us!
It seems like every time I show up to help someone move, it really turns out to be show up to help them figure our where to start packing. Unfortunately it is an all too common situation. For those who have experienced it, it is the ultimate nightmare scenario.
You show up mid-morning on a Saturday after eating half a banana on the way over (knowing there will be pizza provided for lunch of course). You think to yourself, “we should be out of here about 12:30 if we really get at it!” Looking for other cars as you pull in, you are slightly alarmed to see that you are the first one there. Trying to stay optimistic, you think to yourself, “maybe everyone else car-pooled?”
Then you step inside your friends place only to see that nothing much has been packed at all. In fact, if you didn’t know any better you might say they are almost done unpacking their house. So now it is just you and your friend, packing their stuff. A sad reality indeed, but at least they have some boxes to use right? Everyone else shows up late, just in time for the pizza. There is enough for half a slice for everyone, but at least your friend tried (by now you should have know that planning ahead wasn’t their strong-suit).
About 8 hours later as you are struggling to see in the fading light with your tired eyes and aching back, you realize you should have asked if they had the correct tools for the job in the first place. MovingBlankets.com has compiled the Top 5 Moving Problems and Solutions to help prevent moving situations like the one just described.
